Pittsburgh's weather can be unpredictable, and airport patrons were faced with a wide, open space between the parking garage and the ground transportation/baggage claim level. The entry canopies were designed to connect these spaces.
The design takes cues from the existing steel tube trusses of the main ground terminal and evokes the design of early aircraft wings. New lighting, new ADA access ramps, new signage, and new storefront framing at the stair towers completed the project.
